INGREDIENTS
  • One skilled non-certified tradesperson
  • One short staffed, growing employer
  • One automobile insurance company with both sides of Bodily Injury Claim
  • One provincial Government Wage Subsidy Program
  • One Federal Government Subsidy Program
  • One informed, on-side physician
  • One knowledgeable, creative rehabilitation consultant
  • One forward-thinking, progressive lawyer
DIRECTIONS
  • Convince HRSDC and provincial government client falls into special needs categories. Put on back burner and let simmer.

  • Gain rapport and trust of client, lawyer and insurance professionals. Roll together until common objectives separated out. Discard husks. Identify suitable occupations of interest with client. Research potential employers. Obtain physician's approval for occupations identified.

  • Approach employers. Find one who is ripe for needing new employee in area of skills similar to client's occupational goals. Offer wage subsidy for training and gradual integration of subsidy and employer's wage contribution over eight months, palatable to all parties. Ensure training included so client is job-ready following placement, and employer therefore contributes to cost of training.

  • Approach Federal and Provincial Governments and inform them you have a placement but need funding. Request assistance. Approach Insurers and request they match above assistance. Grill all ingredients until sufficiently cooked. Serve with side of slaw.
